Fly Fishing

This itinerary brings together boat fishing and the stunning landscapes of the Dolomites.
Aboard small rowboats, our guides will take you to crystal-clear alpine lakes nestled beneath the most iconic peaks near Cortina. After the snow melts, these high-altitude waters come to life, and we’ll target brown trout, lake trout, and brook trout using streamers, nymphs, and—when conditions allow—dry flies.
Lake expeditions in the Dolomites are rare, as only rowing is permitted—but here, we’ve made it possible to combine fishing and exploration for a truly unique way to experience this stunning alpine region.
And if you occasionally pause your cast just to take in the view—we won’t blame you. This is an experience made for relaxation, fly fishing, and unforgettable mountain scenery.
Catches & Tecnique for Lake Fly Fishing in the Dolomites
The boats are quite small, so we recommend a maximum of two people per boat. Rowing is the only way to navigate these lakes.
Your guide will take you to spots where fish gather to feed after the snowmelt—stream inlets, reed beds, and rocky drop-offs.
You’ll be casting 10 to 15 meters out and gently stripping your fly to tempt hungry trout coming out of their long winter slowdown.
During major hatches and in the warmer months, there’s also the chance to fish dry flies—especially sedges and terrestrials—for thrilling surface takes.
