About fly fishing in Italy
About fly fishing in Italy
In the past, fly fishing in Italy has not been internationally known as a top choice but that’s starting to change.
Why?
Because within just 1,200 km of territory, Italy offers an incredible variety of environments and fish species. From tiny alpine creeks and Apennine streams to spring creeks, lowland rivers, lakes, lagoons, and even open sea.
Fly fishing in Italy means you can practice all techniques and more: streamer fishing, nymphing, dry fly, euro nymphing, wading, and even drifting. You can also enjoy spin fishing and trolling. Italy is not only the land of fine wine and delicious food, it's becoming a hidden paradise for anglers.
And maybe it’s better this way: low fishing pressure means you might have entire stretches of river all to yourself.

The species you can catch
The species you can catch
Fly fishing in Italy mainly targets wild brown trout, rainbow trout, marble trout, and grayling. The marble trout, native to this region, is the species that attracts most international anglers due to its uniqueness and size.
But fly fishing in Italy offers much more: barbel, carp, pike, bass, and even tuna in saltwater.
Our guides are local for two reasons.
First, they know their rivers best.
Second, we believe recreational fishing drives sustainable economic growth in local communities.
We see it as the future of impactful tourism and we support local projects and activists whenever we have the chance.

The best seasons for fly fishing in Italy
The best seasons for fly fishing in Italy
The fly fishing season in Italy typically runs from March to October, depending on the region and river. Some rivers, like the Rienza in the Dolomites, open earlier, while others, such as the Tiber in Tuscany, stay open longer. The best months for fly fishing in Italy are May, June, and September, when water levels and temperatures are ideal for both fish and fishermen.

We firmly believe that fishing should be more accessible and widespread. It’s a fantastic way to explore a destination, connect with local people, and immerse yourself in beautiful landscapes.
That’s why we ensure our guides are ready to teach even those new to this wonderful passion.
